Salt Lake City Fire Department Honor Guard
The Salt Lake City Fire Department Honor Guard was reformed in 1997 following the Line of Duty Death of a department member. What began as a solemn tribute has grown into a respected unit dedicated to honoring fallen firefighters, preserving fire service traditions, and representing the department with pride and professionalism.
With support from the Salt Lake City Firefighters Local Union and the Relief Association, the Honor Guard quickly expanded—adding a Pipe and Drum Corps and participating in funerals, memorials, and civic ceremonies throughout the region. In 2013, new leadership brought renewed purpose and vision, helping guide the Honor Guard into the highly respected organization it is today.
Now a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the Salt Lake City Fire Honor Guard operates entirely through donations and the volunteer efforts of its members. Every event we attend is an opportunity to honor the past, support the present, and uphold the values of the fire service.
Our members donate their time and talent, often serving as instructors at national memorials and Honor Guard clinics. Each ceremony is performed with dignity, precision, and a deep respect for those who have served before us.
Honoring the past. Serving with pride. Preserving tradition.
